Privacy policy
This privacy policy explains what CloudDesk Desktop collects when you use this website and the CloudDesk Desktop desktop app, why it is collected, and the choices you have. We keep it short and in plain language; if anything is unclear, ask us.
What we collect
- Account details — the name, email address and password you enter when you create an account or sign in. Passwords are never stored in readable form.
- Content you create — the activity, notifications and settings that belong to your account, so the app can show them on every device you sign in from.
- Device settings — theme, language, notification preferences and window state. These stay on your device unless you sign in, in which case the preferences that concern your account are synced.
- Diagnostics — anonymous usage events and crash reports, only when the product is configured to send them (see "Analytics and crash reports").
How we use it
To provide the service you signed up for, to keep your account secure, to answer support requests and to fix bugs. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Analytics and crash reports
CloudDesk Desktop uses no third-party analytics scripts and sets no advertising cookies. When analytics or crash reporting are switched on for this product they are sent to the product's own API, in batches, with a random session identifier rather than your name. Crash reports contain the error message, the screen you were on and the last few actions in the app.
On this website a small banner asks for your consent before anything beyond strictly necessary storage is used. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage and you can change it at any time by clearing that storage.
Cookies and local storage
The website uses local storage to remember your cookie choice and, if you sign in to the web version, your session. The desktop app keeps its settings in a local file on your computer. Nothing is shared with other websites.
Sharing
Your data is processed by CloudDesk Desktop and the hosting providers that run the product's servers on our behalf. It is disclosed to nobody else unless the law requires it.
Retention and your rights
We keep account data for as long as your account exists. You can export or delete your data, correct it, or object to a specific use by contacting us. Deleting the app removes the local settings from your computer; deleting your account removes the data held on the servers within 30 days, except where we must keep a record by law.
Changes
When this policy changes we update the effective date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
